Following is heat treatment way of 1.2888 forged parts
Soft Annealing
Heat to 760-840degree, cool slowly in furnace. Time is 4-6 hours. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 320.
Stress Relieving
Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 600-650degree,holding for 1-2 hours at heat, followed by air coling. This operation is performed to reducedistortion during heat treatment.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 1100-1150degree followed by air, oil quenching or vacuumquenching. Hardness after quenching is about 52 HRC.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 600-750degree, to increase hardness, temper 2 or 3 times.
ALl our finished 1.2888 forging parts should be accepted by the QC department of the manufacturer by conducting the following
examinations:
1) external examination;
2) a check of dimensions and marking;
3) chemical composition examination;
4) mechanical tests;
5) macrostructure examination;
6) residual stress measurement;
7) ultrasonic testing;
8) periscopic testing.
