UNS N08028 is cold hardened nickel-based alloy intended for corrosion resistance in highly sour (H2S) environments with moderate chloride content, requiring high strength up to 350°F. 28 Chrome offers increased resistance to the effects of H2S relative to stainless steels allowing its use as downhole tubular components, packers, and other subsurfaceequipment in sour wells with high-pressure and high-temperature (HPHT) conditions and Acid Gas Injection (AGI) wells. In addition,
UNS N08028 has a high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in the presence of chlorides. However, all environmental factors, including H2S, CO2, temperature, pH, and chloride concentration, should be considered before final material selection.

An inspection certificate 3.1 for UNS N08028 forged parts according to Standard EN 10204 and relative ITP in English language shall be provided in duplicate to the clientsprior to, but in no case later than with the delivery of the UNS N08028 forged material and shall contain the following data:
a) Identification no. And order no. of UNS N08028 forging parts
b) Material designation of UNS N08028 forged rings
c) Heat No. and heat analysis including trace elements and melting process.of each UNS N08028 forging sleeves
d) Number of forgings in the ingot and weight of ingot, stating L/D ratio.
e) Degree of forging reduction (Amax/Afinal at greatest body diameter) of each UNS N08028 forging round bars
f) Heat treatment: Method of cooling, temperatures actually measured, holding times and cooling conditions (cooling rates) of each UNS N08028 forged turbine blade steel
including all reheat treatments are to be quoted as a complete temperature time sequence.
g) Results of the mechanical test. All results shall be quoted with indication of location of specimens of Alloy 28 forged steel bars
