Electric arc furnace or blast furnace and oxygen blast converter shall be used, each with subsequent ladle treatment;
Steel shall be vacuum degassed;
Steel shall be non-radioactive;
Quality class shall beat least MQ in accordance with ISO 6336-5 or DIN 3990-5;
Standard EN 10083 shall be followed.

FOllowing is heat treatment way of 31CrMoV9 forged parts
Soft annealing: steel 1.8519 is soft annealed at 680°C - 720°C. This is followed by slow cooling. Here, an annealing hardness of max. 248 HB can be achieved.
Hardening: the hardening process takes place at 840°C - 880°C and is carried out in oil or water.
Tempering: the material number 1.8519 is tempered at 570°C - 680°C with subsequent cooling in the air.
Relaxation: due to changes in the residual stress state due to the mechanical processing, a subsequent stress relieving in the temperature range of 550-580°C is recommended.
