AMS 5660,AMS 5661 is an age-hardenable super alloy which contains Titanium and Aluminium for precipitation hardening and molybdenum for soild-solution strengthening. AMS 5660,AMS 5661 has high yield strength and creep resistance at temperatures to about 1110°F (600°C). As AMS 5660,AMS 5661 has a substantial iron content it enables AMS 5660,AMS 5661 to combine strength with good forging characteristics. AMS 5660,AMS 5661 is commonly used for gas turbine engine discs, shafts, rings, casings and seals.
The AMS 5660,AMS 5661 forged material shall undergo the following heat treatment:
Solution Treatment: 1975-2025°F / 2 hrs + Air Cool
Stabilization Heat Treatment: 1425 - 1475°F / 2-4 hrs + Air Cool
Precipitation Heat Treatment: 1325 - 1375 / 24 hrs +Any Cool
