1.4864 is an austenitic, nickel-chromium-iron-silicon alloy. It combines excellent resistanceto carburization and oxidation at temperatures up to 12009c with high strength. Steel is not resistant in sulphur containing gas.
1.4864 forged material is widely used in high temperature environments where resistance to the combine effects ofthermal cycling and carburization is necessary. Used in a variety of furnace components as wellas in gas turbines, heat exchangers, general heat treating equipment and neutral and cyanidesalt pots.
All our 1.4864 forged material must give the material a required purity necessary for the application in following melting methods
one is triple melted material,VIM+ESR+VAR., the another one is double melted material,VIM+VAR.
The purity grade of the 1.4864 forged steel material is to be determined per DIN 50602-K1.The following value is to be kept in this case(on 1000 mm²)-Sum characteristics value K1:≤2.0
