Incoloy 800 is an alloy of nickel, iron and chromium. The alloy is capable of remaining stable and maintaining its austenitic structure even after long time exposures to high temperatures. Other characteristics of the alloy are good strength, and high resistance to oxidizing, reducing and aqueous environments.

Tensile test specimens of Incoloy 800 forged bars shall be removed from a test coupon (TC) after the final heat-treatment cycle, test location and orientation shall be in accordance to ASTM B564.
Pressure containing and pressure controlling parts made from ductile materials shall have a minimum of one tensile test performed at room temperature in accordance with ASTM A370, ASTM E8, or ISO 6892-1. For
metallic materials the yield strength shall be determined using the relevant industry material standards. The minimum elongation at break shall be in accordance with the industry material standard, but not less than 15
% minimum.
NOTE If the results of the tensile test(s) do not satisfy the applicable requirements, two additional tests (removed from the same TC with no additional heat treatment) may be performed in an effort to qualify the
material.
The results of each additional test shall satisfy the applicable requirements.
The test method of Incoloy 800 forged parts shall be the V-notch technique in accordance with ASTM A370 or ISO 148-1. When using ISO 148-1, a striker with a radius of 8 mm shall be used. Refer to ISO 148-1 for further details.
An impact test shall consist of testing three adjacent test specimens taken from a single test coupon. The result shall be the average of the results of the three test specimens.
Test samples of Incoloy 800 forged round bars shall be taken from the same location and have the same orientation as tensile test specimens.
The following information is mandatory on the certified record of all our iincoloy 800 forging parts:
Purchase Order number and MISSION VG Specification number complete with revision letter.
Statement of the melting process used.
Chemical analysis and heat number.
Statement of heat treatment including time/temperature cycle, cooling media, and hardness of the forging and coupon separately.
Statement of actual values of the mechanical properties which wereobtained from the test coupon, as stipulated in paragraph 5.0.
The number of forgings or hot rolled bars submitted from each heat.
Liquid Penetrant or Magnetic Particle reports.
Ultrasonic Testing or Radiography reports.
Documentation in accordance with NACE MR0175/ISO15156 and EN 10204, Type 3.1.
