1.4410 is a corrosion resistant, austenitic-ferritic super-duplex steel. An austenite/ferrite structure and small grain size provide the material with its hardness, strength, and toughness. 1.4410 is used for components where conventional austenite and corrosion-resistant duplex steels (1.4410) fail to fulfil the corrosion requirements. The steel is characterised by excellent resistance in media containing chlorine and has been approved in NACE MR 0175 for sour gas applications and granted ASME approval for pressure vessels.
