1.4563 is Austenitic steel designed to deal with sour gas, phosphoric, sulphuric and acetic acids, and vinyl chloride. It is used for heat exchangers, coolers, tanks, pumps and pipelines in the chemical, cryogenic, paper, petrochemical and energy industries, for elements of mining platforms, and for aircraft structures, screws and valves.

The mechanical testing of 1.4563 forging parts shall be performed on the qualification on its QTC representing the heat and heat treatment lot in accordance with ASTM A370, ASTM E8 or ISO 6892-1.
Hardness testing shall be in accordance with:
— ISO 6506-1 or ASTM E10, or
— ISO 6508-1 or ASTM E18.
—ISO 6507-1 or ASTM E384 maybe used if ISO 6506-1 or ISO 6508-1 cannot be applied due to size, accessibility, or other limitations.
CVN impact testing shall be in accordance with ASTM E23 or any equivalent specification
An inspection certificate 3.1 for 1.4563 forged parts according to Standard EN 10204 and relative ITP in English language shall be provided in duplicate to the clientsprior to, but in no case later than with the delivery of the 1.4563 forged material and shall contain the following data:
