It is generally supplied as annealed condition with hardness HB 255 max.805M20 Round Bars has good wear resistantwith case hardness HRC 60-63 when carburized, hardened and tempered. It shows good core strength and toughness propertieswith a typical tensile strength range of 700-1100 MPa,in small to medium sized sections.

The first hardening after carburizing with cooling in water or oil at 860 - 900 °C Annealing after carburization at 660 - 680℃ The second hardening after carburization with cooling in oil or water at 810 - 830 ℃ Tempering at 150 - 200℃

Qualification of manufacturing procedure of 805M20 20NCD2 forging parts
The Manufacturing Process Plan (MPP) shall be submitted to the approval of clients Material
& Process Engineering dept. clients before qualification procedure begins. It shall detail at least
the following:
• type of ingot (supplier, manufacturing process, dimensions, and tests to beperformed);
• forging process;
• heat treatment process;
• tests on component.
In general, dissection of the first piece within the terms detailed in the part specification is required.
This activity may be omitted, upon decision of clients, if the supplier has already proven to be able to successfully produce components of similar shape, dimensions and manufacturing
process.
