2.4603 is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum-copper alloy. With higher chromium, added cobalt and tungsten, 2.4603 shows superior corrosion resistance to most other nickel and iron-based alloys in commercial phosphoric acids and complex environments with high oxidizing acids. The resistance of the alloy to the formation of grain boundary deposits in the heat affected zone makes the alloy suitable for use in most chemical treatment applications in the welded state
