FOllowing is Manufacture process of all our finished Forging Steel Jack-up drilling rigs pinion shafts
Ingot→heat→forging→ Heat treatment (Normalizing+ tempering) →Inspection →rough machining→UT →2nd Heat treatment →finishing machining →Inspection
All our finished jack up pinion shafts will have following inspection
chemical composition analysis;ultrasonic test; magnetic powder test if required; dimension test; mechanical property test; microstructure test,UT standard ASTM A388 or EN10228 or or SEP 1921
Quality documents all the above test will be reported and the heat treatment process will be recorded.
Following is one mechanical property of AISI 4330V Mod forged material of jack up pinion shafts
Tensile strength ≥ 180000psi;
yield strength (0.2.%) ≥ 165000psi;
elongation (2% inches) ≥ 12%;
Surface shrinkage (%) > 46%;
hardness value: 40-45HRC.
Type V impact test: -20 ºC
longitudinal impact average ≥ 20 ft.-lbs;
-20ºC transverse impact average ≥ 15ft.-lbs;
All our finished jack up pinion shafts should be certificated by classification societies, such as the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Norske Veritas (DNV) and Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR), and conforming to ISO 3730 standards (if required)
