Incoloy 800H is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy having the same basic composition as Incoloy 800, with significantly higher creep rupture strength. The higher strength results from close control of carbon, aluminum and titanium contents in conjunction with a high temp anneal. The Alloy 800H modification was to control carbon (0.05 to 0.10%) and grain size to (>ASTM 5) to optimize stress rupture properties. Incoloy 800 H has further modifications to the combined titanium and aluminum levels (0.85 to 1.2%) to ensure optimum high temperature properties. The alloy is dual certified and combines the properties of both forms.

1. Step 1- Basic EF
Step 2- Either Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) or Vacuum Oxygen Decarburization (VOD) or Vacuum Degrassing.
Step 3- Either Electroslag Remelting (ESR) or Electroflux Remelting (EFR) or Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR).
Optional Step 4- Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR)

MICRO EXAMINATION of alloy 800H forged parts
Micrographic examination shall be performed on specimens taken in the mid-radius and center of the section used for macrographic examination to evaluate carbide distribution,delta phase distribution,grain and banding.The micrographic samples shall be mounted and polished in the longitudinal direction with respect to the billet.Dedicated additional micrographic inspection shall be performed in case of anomalies are observed at the macrographic inspection.
