These days we received one order of 24PCS of DIN 21CrMoV5-11 Forging Forged Steel Rolls For Russian clients
Following is technical manual of 21CrMoV5.11 forged rolls of our clients
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION RANGE :
C .17 -.25 Si .30 - .60 Mn .30 - .50 Cr 1,20 - 1.50 Ni 0,60 max. Mo 1,00 -1,20 S 0.015max. P 0,020max V 0,25-0,35 Al .058max
Trace elements must be in following limits:
Sn – 0.03 max
Sb – 0.001 max
Pb – 0.001 max
As – 0.001 max
FORGINGS of DIN 21CrMoV5-11 rolls :
The forging ratio is subject to arrangement with the manufacturer but would normally be no less that 4:1 for the roller barrel.
Forgings must be free of hydrogen, not more than 3 ppm.
Forgings should be properly heat treated according to material standard to give mechanical properties specified as follows:
Mechanical properties at room temperature:
Tensile strength: 750 - 800 N/mm2
0,2% Yield strength: 550 N/mm2 minimum
Hardness: 225 – 250 HB
Elongation: 16% minimum
Reduction of area: 50% minimum
Charpy V-notch Impact Value at Room Temperature: 50 joules minimum in longitudinal
direction
Standard heat treatment include following:
Hardening 900 – 950 C
Tempering 680 – 740 C
Soft Annealing 60 – 740 C
Heat treatment should be agreed between clients and potential supplier. Supplier must guarantee above requested mechanical properties with their heat treatment.
ADDITIONAL:
Steel shall be electric melted and fully completed with Al to give a grain size in the range
ASTM 5-8
FINAL MACHINING of 21CrMoV5.11 rollls:
Final machining according to enclosed roll drawing.
Following roll documentation:
- Heat treatment diagram
- Basic material DIN 21CrMoV5-11 characteristics certificate
- Measuring card with tolerances and proven requested mechanical properties of base roll material.
- Certificate of cracks non existence, determine by : penetrants, MPI and ultrasound
- Dimensional control certificate.
NOTE:
Each 21CrMoV5.11 roll must be delivered with sample of min. 50 mm length for testing. Samples must be marked with same mark as roll.
